I haven't done very well with this blog. LOL My hope is to Write a little something every day. As you can see by the date that didn't happen this last month. Life has just been going along and quite fast at that. We've started the Fall co-op. The first class was yesterday. I didn't feel really ready or prepared but both classes went pretty good. The first class is 1st-3rd grade/ages and the second is 4th-6th grade/ages. I think we had a good time. We started the class out by sitting on the carpet around a large world map. We pointed out the continents and oceans. We talked about the latitude and longitude and the major lines for each; equator, tropic of cancer, tropic of capricorn, arctic and antarctic circles along with the prime meridian and international date line. We discussed hemispheres and cut up muffins as a visual for that. We did have a few mishaps with that because as with any kids, some weren't listening and a few took a bite before we were ready. No worries about that though, they were going to get chomped anyways. LOL Lastly, we looked at types of maps; political, physical and thematic. Then looked at several types of thematic maps. The older class, went to the table and labeled a map with all the things mentioned above. Both classes had the muffin, oh I mean, hemisphere exercise the last 15 minutes or so of class. I had more then enough to talk about with the younger group, but I see I do need a bit more with the older class. Next week, we're going to discuss a bit more on maps and do some locating exercises. Not sure what else we'll do. I do have an idea for our craft. I'll have to see if I can do it here at the house first. Ok, I'm off to do more laundry and figure out what to have for dinner. That's all if I have now one my . . . daily life.

The story of my life. I was born. I grew up. Then I learned to knit. A whole world opened up to me then. I love to knit. It has gotten me through some really tough times. Of course, I was doing a lot of praying with all of that knitting, so without God and knitting, I probably would have given up on lots of things long ago. I have met lots of wonderful friends because of knitting. And like most knitters (that I know) I have more yarn, more projects going and more patterns then I'll ever be able to knit in my lifetime. Plus (as if knitting weren't enough already) I like to crochet, quilt and try crafty things all them time, but knitting is my favorite, my love.
